SRW @3: Main characters revealed!!
In the latest article by Famitsu magazine on 10th of June, the main characters are finally revealed, and to the our greatest joy, it will continue on the system of Alpha 2, where there will be four routes right in the beginning, with different characters to start off.
As you can see, the SRX team are back, and the final form of SRX is revealed! (The same SRX that we have seen so far was supposed to be a prototype, which is relatively unstable). It's name is BANPREIOZ, code name being SR-01 SRX ALT. (BANPREIOZ/BANPRESTO, get it?) Designed by Katoki Hajime, it's based on the old SRX and super alien technology "EOT", and carries a modified tronium engine as well as the T-LINK system. Apparently, the main pilot is still Ryuusei, and Rebis Tora…i mean Kobayashi Mai will be one of the sub-pilots, including Rai and Aya. It's relatively unknown whether the R-series combine into Banpreioz, or it's a independant unit. If the R-series combine into Banpreioz, will they look the same, or…? The combat screenshots are based on Banpreioz's T-LINK Blade Knuckle.
In this page, we are introduced to the main characters on the super side.
Male, Super route:
Touma Kanou, a hot-blooded lad who was originally a normal civilian living on several part-time jobs. As he has a strong sense of justice, he couldn't leave any troubled soul alone, and this was bacause he lived through the war and has seen much death. However, he's the type that don't think clearly in time of action, and can be quite aggressive. Got caught in a fight with a mysterious enemy and had an encounter with his mecha that will be his partner from now on.
His mecha is Rai-oh (literally translated as Thunder Phoenix), a close combat type affluent with kick moves. Equipped with the Man Machine Interface "System LIOH", it's an all rounder that can deal with any enemy. It's code number is OGG-XAM3, and suspected to be affiliated with the "Double G" (Daizengar and Aussenseiter, Elzam/Retsuel's mecha in OG2). The combat scenes are based on Rai-oh's Lightning Fall.
Female, Super route:
Kusuha Mizuha and Brooklyn Rackfield, the pilots of Ryukou-oh are back!
Kusuha, an excellent Psychic Power user, joins the Tesra Raihi Laboratory to research on the super mechanoids, after the Balmar War (Alpha 1) and the Sealed War (Alpha 2). Currently she's the test pilot for the Hyu-machine.
Brit, the partner of Kusuha, is a straight-forward and righteous youth. He went through the wars as the pilot of Kouryu-oh, and has excellent Psychic Power.
Kusuha's mecha is Gouryuu Kai, YMD-010, a mass produced Hyu-machine (steel mechanoid) based on the Grungast series and the know-how of Ryukou-oh. This modified version is basically a tune-up Gouryu.
Brit's mecha is Raikou Kai, YMD-02T, which is built the same time as Gouryu-oh. It's equipped with the same T-LINK system as Gouryu Kai.
Gouryu and Raikou are both featured in a comic based off Ryukou-oh. Most likely Ryukou-oh will appear once again as their final mecha.
There will be new cut-in scenes for the both of them, as seen from the combat scenes. Gouryu Kai is using its Lightning Smasher, while Raikou Kai seems to be using a beam whip.
Correction (30/06/05) – It's confirmed that the move of Raikou Kai is Thunder Boost Knuckle. Apparantly the "beam whip" is a line connecting Raikou Kai and his knuckle. You can see the move more clearly at the official website.
Female, Real route:
Selena Restal is a former member of a certain special operation team. This team got annihilated after an encounter with a mysterious enemy. As the sole survivor, she was hunted down along with her robot partner, Elma. Under her frivolous talkativeness and her constant smile lies a strong will.
Selena's mecha is AS-04, AS Soleares, an Assault Scouter used for scouting and strong assaults. With a Jamming device and the ability to dash, it's able to land a close combat hit and escape thereafter before the enemy can get her. (i.e the hit-and-away tactic). Carrying several special
equipment, Prism Phantom is one example that allows the mecha to hide from its enemy's view.
With its stealth and assault abilities, it is likened to a ninja. In the combat scenes, Soleares's Sol Fencer is a whip that demonstrates it's hit-and-away tactic.And do not be distracted by Selena's swaying breasts in the cut-in scenes…
Male, Real route:
Kuovure Gordon is an Earth Federation pilot posted to Bright Noah's Londo Bell. A silent person who rarely shows emotions, he lost his memories during an incident before he was posted to Londo Bell.
Kuovure's mecha is Velgubau, which is proficient in medium to long range shoot outs and have high agility. Other than the fact that it carries an engine known as "Deen Rave", everything else about it is unknown. It carries a resemblance in parts similar to a certain mecha that appears in the Balmar War…
Seems to me his past has got to do with the storyline in Alpha 1, and his weapon, Gun Slave, long range controlled projectiles simliar to Nu Gundam's Fin Funnel, is said to be seen somewhere in Alpha 1…
The main characters from Alpha 2 will be back!
Zengar: After the Sealed War, he went missing with his Daizengar. (Although people who played OG2 would have guess that he went to hide in the mountains, along with Elzam and Gilliam)
Arad: Originated from the special pilot inducement organisation "SCHOOL". After the battle with Gan'eden in Alpha 2, he has been missing.
Zeora: Arad's partner. After he went missing, she went to search for him…
Ivis: After the Sealed War, she went on a journey towards the galaxy on a long distance migration vessel. She was unheard of since then, though.
Surei: Going past her obsession to rival Ivis, she rides the Hiperion along with Tsugumi.
Tsugumi: Self proclaimed guardian of Ivis, she is currently lending her power to Surei.
Zengar will be appearing on ALL routes, while Arad/Zeora will be in Kuovure's route, and Ivis/Surei/Tsugumi will be in Selena's route.
And finally, the Birthday system way back from SRW F will be back! The birth date and blood type you have entered will determine the seishins your main character will obtain in the game.
