Mario + Mickey + Sora = Mushroom Kingdom Hearts?
Once upon a time, when it was announced that Disney will worked with Square-Enix on a new RPG, many people express disbelief. I mean, It’s a very unlikely combo that might backfire. Imagine, seeing your Final Fantasy characters mixing with Disney character. Goofy meets Cid? Sounds goofy enough (bad pun intended). How can kiddish characters be featured in such a traditional RPG as Final Fantasy. Oh well, we were eventually proven wrong.
Kingdom Hearts was so successful around the whole world that it spawns a side story (which eventually bridge the gap between KH and KH2) and a sequel, which was even more successful.
And now, Nintendo has announced that they will work on a collaboration with Disney and Square-Enix to include classic Nintendo characters such as Mario, Luigi, Prncess Peach, Yoshi, Toad and probably Bowser as the bad-ass villain in Kingdom Hearts, titled “Mushroom Kingdom Hearts”, which is slated for a 2008 release on the Nintendo Wii. This must have been the secret KH title that they have been working on, which was said to deviate from the series.
I first read this in Gameaxis at Borders, and boy was I surprised! Ever since it was announced that Mario and Sonic will appear in the same game, I did not realise that another shocking news will be on the way. Thus i excitingly went on to check online when I got home and then I found out that…

From Wiki: An exclusive first look for what appeared to be a spin-off in the Kingdom Hearts series, that was to be released in 2008. It was an exclusive Wii game named “Mushroom Kingdom Hearts”, featuring over 41 ( 4 as in April, 1 as in 1st) Nintendo characters and characters from the first two games in the series. The article was complete with artwork of a re-designed Mario holding a golden keyblade. Sora and King Mickey are pictured with him. Accompanying this picture was an image of a Mushroom with the Kingdom Hearts crown symbol on its head. EGM has confirmed in their March 26, 2007 podcast that the article was in fact the year’s April Fool’s joke, commenting on how the Mario design was a photoshopped image of the Super Mario Sunshine artwork.
Damn, and I thought I wouldn’t get fooled this year. This one totally screw me up!
However, this prove one thing to Nintendo. We need more cross-over games!! 
Nowadays companies are getting together. We have Gundam Musou, which is Bandai-Namco and Koei, then the Mario and Sonic game. I guess Mushroom Kingdom Hearts might eventually turn out to be the idea for another earth-shaking cross-over game.
haha, it all started from the collaboration of Marvel and Capcom to make X Man VS Street Fighter. And true enough, recently more and more companies have been joining hands.
Other than these, Nintendo have also been working with Square Enix on a DS version of Itadaki Street featuring Nintendo and DQ characters, while interestingly Solid Snake appears as a guest character in SSBB with approval from Konami, and there’s also the SRW-alike game Namco X Capcom. And of coz not forgetting Sega approved the appearance of Temjin and guys in SRW Alpha 3.
Yes, in the future it just might come true. In the past, there was an EGM April Fool joke of unlocking Sonic and Tails in Super Smash Brothers (I forgot which version liao)… But seeing that Mario and Sonic are going to be in the same game, that joke might also come true soon enough.
…. (BLEEP)….. That sucks….. Mario and Sonic do better together insted of Sora and mario….. Someone allready made “Super mario bros. Z” and it’s’a piece of art. But Mario and Sora? Thats a story that might suck/work more…. Buts it maby a (BLEEP) good game. I still would like to know if Oni Link will win against sephiroth…. Now that would be a good match.
