Who’s rei_andrew29?

1) I’m a big SRW fan.

2) I’m a big JAM Project fan.

3) I’m PRO-Nintendo, and hopes that they will thrash Sony and Microsoft soon.

4) I’m always exploring the world of anison.

Which was what my original profile look like, but one of my friends say it’s f***ed-up, so I better write something more concrete here.

Year: 1984

Horoscope: Leo

Country: Singapore

Race: Chinese

I’m currently studying part time for a degree in Molecular biology and Biotechnology at the Singapore campus (run by PSB Academy) of University of West Australia. Ok, whatever.

My interests are mostly summarised into the japanese anime-pop culture, where I love to watch animes, read manga, listen to anime songs, play japanese games, and appreciate japanese anime toys and figurines.

Anime: I watched a variety of genres, yet I’m pretty stuck to certain stereotypes which I like to watch, no matter what other people say.

Genres I like (in order): Shounen, Drama, Sci-Fi (this includes mecha :p), Action, Romance, Slice of life, Comedy, Shoujo

Stereotypes: Long shounen adventures (One Piece, Bleach, etc), Typical romance shows with bits of harem (probably Ai Yori Aoshi, Ah! My Goddess and such), mecha shows (Gundam being the most famous, though i’m inclined towards super robots)

Let’s see, I have a lot of animes that I really like, and it’s a long list. Here it is (in no particular order): Doraemon, One Piece, Gundam 08 MS Team, Card Captor Sakura, Fushigi Yuugi, Vandread, Full Metal Panic! series, Yuusha-oh Gaogaigar, Keroro Gunsou, Mugen no Ryvius, Kimagure Orange Road, Gundam Seed, Full Metal Alchemist, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A’s, Yu Yu Hakusho, Hunter X Hunter, Ai Yori Aoshi, Onegai Teacher!, Rozen Maiden series, Digimon Adventure, Honey and Clover, Eyeshield 21, Gear Fighter Dendoh, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, Akazukin Cha Cha, Fushigi Yuugi, Rurouni Kenshin, Fruits Basket etc

I like to pay heed to seiyuus (japanese voice actors). Here’s my favourites (not in order):

Male: Seki Tomokazu, Midorikawa Hikaru, Yamaguchi Kappei, Ishida Akira, Hiyama Nobuyuki, Koyasu Takehito, Okiayu Ryotaro, Ueda Yuji, Seki Toshihiko, Inada Tetsu, Kamiya Akira, Ko’nishi Katsuyuki, Sakurai Takahiro, Sugita Tomokazu, Suzumura Ken’ichi, Chafurin, Tobita Nobuo, Hoshi Souichiro, Miki Shin’ichiro etc

Female: Tanaka Rie, Kuwashima Hoko, Matsumoto Rica, Hayashibara Megumi, Horie Yui, Yukino Satsuki, Iwao Junko, Noda Junko, Ogata Megumi, Tanaka Mayumi, Kawasumi Ayako, Mitsuishi Kotono, Hisakawa Aya, Inoue Kikuko, Ohtani Ikue, Takahashi Mikako, Touma Yumi, Orikasa Fumiko, Kugimiya Rie, Takayama Minami, Takeuchi Junko, Chiba Saeko, Paku Romi, Hidaka Noriko etc

My preference for manga is around the same as anime (since they are so closely related), so here’s the list of manga I like: Doraemon, One Piece, Dragon Ball, Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken, Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam, Senkaiden Houshin Engi, Card Captor Sakura, Yu Gi Oh, Hikaru no Go, Yu Yu Hakusho, MARS, Full Moon wo Sagashite, Slam Dunk, Ranma 1/2, Fushigi Yuugi, Fruits Basket, Rurouni Kenshin, Marmalade Boy,  etc

Manga artists whom I appreciate their works include Watase Yuu (Fushigi Yuugi, Ayashi no Ceres), Hokujo Tsutomu (City Hunter, Angel Heart), Obata Takeshi (Hikaru no Go, Death Note), CLAMP (Rayearth, Card Captor Sakura). etc

I love character designs from Koge-Donbo, of Pitaten and Sugar Rune fame.

Ever since young I have been paying attention to anime songs (otherwise known as anison) and that’s what I listen to all along (theme songs for games also counted). Here’s a list of artistes I heed notice to (1st three in order, the rest are not in order): Yonekura Chihiro, JAM Project, Mizuki Nana, Okui Masami, Hayashibara Megumi, Kuribayashi Minami, Ishida Yoko, Sakamoto Maaya, ZARD, KOTOKO, Tanaka Rie, Ogata Megumi, RYTHEM, FictionJunction Yuuka, Kageyama Hironobu, Endoh Masaaki, Shimokawa Mikuni, Matsumoto Rica, Satou Akemi, DEEN, L’Arc~en~ciel, See-Saw, Horie Yui, TWO-MIX, ALI Project, Maeda Ai/AiM…

Games-wise, I myself have a Micro Genius (an imitation of NES), Sega Genesis, Playstation 1, Playstation 2, GBA/GBA SP and a NDS. I’m planning to buy a Nintendo Wii.

Games I like to play is very limited. Mostly I stick to my favourite game series, Super Robot Wars [SRW] (Banpresto), where I (try to) buy and play every incarnation ever released, but mostly I only have the PS2 versions. Other series I tend to go for include “Tales of” series (Namco), Genso Suikoden series (Konami), Fire Emblem series (Intelligent Systems/Nintendo), Gyakuten Saiban/Phoenix Wright series (Capcom), Rockman/Megaman Zero/ZX or similar series (Capcom), Castlevania [2D RPG side scroller] (Konami), Metal Gear Solid series (Konami).

I like RPGs, but recently I refrain from playing them (with the exception of Suikoden V) and instead prefer Strategy RPGs. Casual fun games are also to my liking, such as Warioware. Out-of-the-world new japanese genres are fun to explore, where you can find such gems as Katamari Damacy and Ouendan. I also find anime games fun, if I can relate to them. Text adventure games are fun too, provided they have a good storyline, regardless or not whether there’s ero content. I also like card games on console, where my favourite would be Digimon Card Battle (PS1). Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship (GBA, NDS) and Pokemon TCG (GBC) are also not bad, since I do not need to buy the cards. Now if only Magic the Gathering has a decent console game (MTG Battlegrounds sux, btw)…

As expected, I only play japanese games. The only english game to make it into my favourite list is the Burnout series, because I find crashing cars to be fun. And oh yeah, probably Warcraft 3, but that’s a dying interest, because I’m not really into RTS.

Currently playing Ouendan 2, Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship 2007 and Muv-Luv. Waiting (anxiously) for SRW OGS to come out. Going to play SRW W for the 2nd replay…

Toys and figurines.. I like gashapon, and I like SD Gundam BB Senshi model kits. But because I’m not a (hardcore) toy collector, neither am I a toy trader, I try to refrain myself. Which is why I buy all those issues of Dengeki Super Robo, so that I do not need to buy all those SRW models and figures. I also seems to like plush toys and anime dolls, and one of my goals is to get a life size anime doll to display (but not before getting bashed, haha).
